Shoe rant

I saw the most perfect pair of heels while being in Tampere, they even were on sale. Now I regret I didn't buy them. I've been chasing after them here in Helsinki without any luck. I'm crying. Sniff.

This is what I was wearing yesterday. I thrifted the skirt in Tampere, hem line is a little bit too long, so I should shorten it. Top is just a basic tee from Seppälä. The bag that can be seen a little is from Mic Mac, I bought it cos I really needed a weekend bag. It's perfect.

These brown shoes were also thrifted in Tampere (hmm I guess they'll have to do for now, but they aren't the ones)

Here's the bag. My friend has the same bag, so we can't really go on a weekend trip together :)

purse-heaven

I went thrifting yesterday, good finds were made. At Fida I had to pinch myself, cos I really felt like being in a dream for finding so many purses. I even had to leave some of them behind which made me almost cry a little.

These two little ones are vintage, but the third one is real H&M :) couldn't really tell.

I went to see The Valkyrians yesterday and paired the two-tone purse with the heels I bought yesterday. I've been lacking black basic heels.

Polka Dots and Sun

I'm on a sick leave once again, this flu has been bugging me on and off for a couple of months now. I guess it's stress-related due to the situation at work and other shit in life...

As I'm not really that ill (the doctor was kind enough to give me 4 days off for god knows what reason), I've been able to go for bikerides and enjoy the sun a lot. This is what I was wearing today.

Old man's yard sale

Sunday, breakfast in the afternoon.

Two of those plates I bought in Hanko at some old man's yard sale. I think I might want to start collecting those.

Ville bought this radio for one euro (excuse me for not hiding the wires), don't know if it works, the plug needs to be changed into a modern one.

This travel radio the man gave us for free. I have no idea if it works either but at least it looks nice!

Yesterday evening was really good. I'm glad I decided to go out, since I've been sitting at home too much lately!

Hanko

Instead of going to Lappeenranta, we decided to drive to Hanko. Never been there before and it turned out to be a lovely town by the sea. Sun didn't shine the whole time we were there as I had thought, weird? Maybe it's an urban myth (or marketing) that sun always shines there. On our way home we stopped at Pikkala to take a swim there.

I wore my cleaning lady dress. This one is at home when my hair was all fine, it definitely was windy in Hanko!

Small town thrifting

So I have infectio acuta respiratoria superior non specificata. What a funny way of saying "flu". I'm off from work until Monday, yay!

I managed to do some thrifting while in Joensuu and Ville's little hometown nearby. I found this long dress that I modified to a shorter one. I'm still thinking about taking off those pockets, but I'm afraid the fabric inside the pockets is darker than the rest. So I guess it's better to leave it that way.

Other finds I made are these two dresses. Photographed hanging like that (and unironed) doesn't do them any justice, but I was too tired to put them on, let alone take pictures of my sick self...

This is self-made by someone and it fits me like a glove. Now I only need accessories to match. It was 3,5 euros.

This one reminds me of a cleaning lady, but when it's on, it looks much better. This was 1 euro.


The polka dot belt was 70 cents.

Ilosaarirock Saturday

I'm ill. Having a summer flu, yet there's no summer to be seen. Good thing about this is that I'm able to just lay in bed doing absolutely nothing, something I'm very good at. I have to see a doctor in a couple of hours, though. Hopefully he'll give me sick leave until the end of this week.

Last weekend was spent in Joensuu, in Ilosaarirock. I must admit that most of the time I sat in park drinking beer but I also got to see many of my favourite bands. However, I liked Mike Patton the most. I went to see his performance quite randomly, but boy was it amazing! (and I rarely say this about any band or performer...).

Saturday

Yesterday I woke up already at 07:30, had breakfast and headed thrifting and grocery shopping. Then in the evening a friend of ours had a graduation party. Now I'm feeling a bit hungover, I woke up at 8 already.


This is me and my boyfriend before going to the party. I really need to post a picture of him not wearing sunglasses! I bought that green sweater yesterday, had to take it in a bit (and I did it in a hurry just before leaving as usual). Brooch, bandana and purse are thrifted as well, skirt is the same old Lindex one.

This is Laura and me, she graduated as a tailor.

Purses

I'm trying so hard not to nap this week. However, right now nothing would be better than crawling under warm blankets with The Boy and The Cat... mmm. napping is just heavenly.

Things I'm into right now:

• Wearing contact lenses! I always thought they weren't for me, but I've completely got used to them already (but being honest, I cried a little while trying them on for the first time..)
• Sex and The City Movie. I have tickets for the premiere, which is here on 6th of June. Can't wait!
• I finally booked a time for a tattoo, it's on Friday the 13th. eep!
  
• Thrifting, once again. I had a long period of time that I wasn't too into it. Now I'm at it again.
• Coffee and cigarettes (habits that I don't have all the time, just periodically)
• Napping. goddammit.

I found some pictures of my purses while going through old photos. And I also found a pic of a purse I didn't even remember I had! Today I need to gather all my courage and find my way to our dark storage and search for the purse:

Thursday 22nd

I found these shoes for 1 euro in Joensuu. They fit perfectly. I should learn to wear heels, since they're good to ones posture and I have a posture from hell! No wonder my back is aching all the time.

anyways. Our trip to Joensuu was great, but once I again I noticed two days isn't enough to stay. It takes 4 to 5 hours to drive, so when you get there you almost already have to drive back.

I've had really hard time falling a sleep and waking up these past couple of weeks. Luckily (?) I work two shifts, so every two weeks I'm able to sleep long, but then again, I wouldn't want to waste my time sleeping... I think I'd better activate somehow, I haven't been doing anything since my boyfriend got his own laptop. Now all we ever do is lay on bed both doing our own stuff on the internet. Pathetic life.

This weekend I want to go see this exhibition. I'm most definitely also going to fix my bike! and ride bikes! (yeah right)

A couple of weeks ago me and my boyfriend (and the cat of course!) drove to our family's summer cottage for the first time this spring/summer. Lovely time was had. We found this armchair at a local thrift store for only 10 euros. We already had a couch of the same exact material and colour! what a find.

This table was given to us by my parents. It fits perfect in our appartment.

This one we also got from my parents. I remember it from childhood.

This lamp used to belong to the former owner of the summer cottage. It's a bit too bright for my taste, but it looks good anyway!
